One of Konami’s biggest successes of the past few years has been the All Aboard series. So it’s natural that they would look at successors. Bull Blitz Fortunes of the Orient and other sister Bull Blitz themes came first, and its main twist is to fix the fatal flaw of the All Aboard bonus round: Getting multiple symbols in a single spin is not rewarded.
But other than that tweak, they didn’t break what’s working, and the result is another strong title in the Konami line-up that made the successful leap from physical casinos online. Let’s look at the key ingredients that make this slot so much fun, and where you can play it online.
Base Game
This is a 5×3 reel set with 50 pay lines. The pay table symbols are a mix of royal symbols and premium symbols, along with the Bull Blitz symbols which can be found on all five reels, and bonus symbols on the middle three reels. Stacked wild symbols appear on reels 2-5, which can help with line hits.
Like other online Konami slots, the bet structure closely follows that of their physical casino slots – you pick your denomination and your bet multiplier within that denomination. All of the jackpot values (of which there are five – three static jackpots and two progressive jackpots) are fixed at a given denomination, so your chances of winning them increase with bet multiplier within the denomination. Jackpots are available during the Bull Blitz Feature, but the Grand can be randomly awarded after any base game spin as well.
Bull Blitz Feature
Six or more of the Bull Blitz symbols trigger the Bull Blitz Feature. This is a hold and spin style bonus – the symbols are converted to credit or jackpot prizes (any but the Grand can appear on any single coin), and you get three spins. Land at least one Bull Blitz symbol within the three spins, and all the coins that are locked are awarded. This follows the All Aboard model.
But the twist is if you land more than one, you get the Xtra Hit Feature – that simply means the previously locked coins (in gold) are awarded again. However, none of the prizes revealed behind the newly landed symbols are awarded unless you land another Bull Blitz symbol within the three spins that follow.
If the Mega Jackpot is revealed on a coin, it’s awarded instantly (no awaiting another Bull Blitz symbol to award it), and then replaced by a credit prize. If no Bull Blitz symbols come out during the first three spins of the feature, the credit prizes locked on the reels are awarded as a consolation prize.
If at any point you go three spins without landing a Bull Blitz symbol, or you fill all 15 spaces (which awards the Grand), the Bull Blitz Feature is complete.
Free Games
Land three bonus symbols on the middle three reels to trigger the Free Games. Or, land two bonus symbols including on reel 4, and the bonus symbol on reel 4 may split into two, giving you the third needed to start the Free Games.
Six free games are awarded, and during the free spins, any wild that appears on reels 2-5 will expand to fill the entire reel, aiding the potential for line hits. The Bull Blitz Feature is available during the Free Games, and the Free Games can be retriggered.
