I often get complicated questions about how I play slots. This isn’t one of them, but it’s a little bit different:
Do you play in high limit or regular slots?

I play in both! When I’m filming I will often play in the high limit room, at least to start – there are frequently less people there, so I’m not bothering them as I film, and it’s easier to get access to the machines I want to play at the bet sizes I want to play them.
But the situation largely drives where I play. For instance, some casinos don’t have a high limit room, like on a Carnival Cruise Line ship or at the Plaza in Las Vegas. And when I’m relaxing on my own, I might do either.
But with more and more slots being multi-denomination nowadays, the location of the machine is becoming a bit less consequential. For instance, many Dragon Link penny denomination machines go up into the multi dollar denomination range, which means I’ll have access to the bets I enjoy playing.

I do prefer high limit rooms for a few reasons – sometimes casinos won’t put the bigger bets on the main floor, which means I have to find them there. And because some casinos can get really busy, sometimes if I want to chill out the high limit room can be quieter and more relaxing for me.
It also can come down to drink selection – I can’t always get Fiji water on the main floor of some casinos, even as a higher tier player, so that might encourage me to head that way to get the beverages I prefer. In high limit, this and other premium offerings of food or drink may become complimentary.
But ultimately, it comes down to the machines I want to play and the bet levels I want to play. High limit is more likely to have that, but not always, and so I will play either based on what I’m looking for, and whether I’m filming or just playing on my own at the time.
