It’s been awhile since we’ve shared a new slot machine tell with you, but that doesn’t mean they’re not still out there. This one comes from a newer game, Huff N’ Even More Puff Grand.
This version of the game has what’s known as a rescue feature – on a spin where you didn’t get the bonus, the wolf can come out and fill in the missing pieces to trigger the bonus.
But in this case, when this scenario is going to happen, the clicks that normally occur when the reels come to a stop don’t occur. You’ll see in the first video above Brian Christopher calls it out – the hats and other objects that land still make their sounds, but the reel clicks did not
Here’s another instance in the same video where it happens (but Brian thinks it doesn’t happen, probably because the hats still make their sound).
This tell is very specific to the after-spin rescue feature. The clicks still happen if there’s a tell before the reels come to a stop. And, interestingly, the reels click before the rescue feature of its predecessor, Huff N’ Even More Puff, so this is a tell specific to this version of the game, even though the tell works similarly (the wolf’s tail swings by, and then the wolf blows one or more hats onto the reels).
So, if you happen to notice the reels aren’t making their traditional click, it looks like you’ve got something special about to happen.
Rescue features are an awesome way to add some extra excitement into a slot since it’s not over until it’s really over. In this case, you get a hint one is on its way when that sound disappears.
