In previous posts we’ve shared how your overall bet level can have an impact on your ability to win various prizes. A player looks for more specific clarification around this:
Does betting more on a denomination increase your odds of hitting a mini, minor or major on all makes of machines? Or just Aristocrat.

Whether your bet amount influences the odds of winning a prize has more to do with game structure than game maker. Generally speaking, progressives are one size for all bet levels, and in those situations, betting more will increase your chances. So games where the Major is the same at all bet levels will work that way.
When the Major is different on different denominations, your odds improve within the denomination bets as you go up, but can differ between denominations if the progressive amounts are different. This is the case on some denominations of the newer generation games. But even then, betting up within a denomination improves your chances within that denomination.
When it comes to the Mini and Minor, it depends on if the size of the Mini or Minor changes with your bet size or not. On the Links, the Mini and Minor are static within a denomination, so your odds of winning one would improve.
But it’s important to realize they’re not real prizes. If you’re betting $5 on a Lightning Link machine at 1 cent denomination, the $10 mini is a 2x prize relative to your bet. 2x coins in Hold and Spin rounds are not unusual, and the game could print 1000 credits just as easily as it could print Mini.
The whole idea of these static prizes is to generate extra excitement and make players think they’re winning something important, when it’s just another way to present a credit prize.
There are other slots where the value of the Mini changes proportionally with your bet. The All Aboard series is a helpful example of this. Because the Mini is always at a consistent proportion to your overall bet, there is an actual purpose to it within the pay structure and your odds of winning it on any particular bet level are the same – just if you bet higher, it will be proportionally higher.
So it really depends on the pay structure of the slot. If the progressives are the same across all bets, bigger bets have bigger chances. In the case of the static prizes, the same exists, but they may not have any actual purpose other than to create excitement.
