When you bet as high as I do, jackpot handpays are inevitable. Some casinos allow me to self pay jackpots up to a certain amount, but others don’t offer that technology and so the standard handpay process comes into play.
When I’m filming content for my channel or when I’m live, sometimes I need to move on to keep things moving (and keep you entertained). But that can mean walking away from a machine, which periodically catches the attention of those watching:
When you walk away from a pending handpay, do you have to worry someone else will take it?

I don’t, and there’s a few reasons for that, which I’ll explore today.
I’m Normally Not Alone
When I’m filming on the casino floor content for my channel, or when I’m live, I’m generally with at least one member of my team if not more. So they’ll often lend a hand in ensuring the jackpot is brought over to wherever I’ve ended up by the time the process is complete.
This can be particularly helpful during the live streams, as my goal is to not have too much downtime between games because I’m actively entertaining thousands of people watching in real time. That means finding whatever machine is open at the time, and if the casino happens to be busy, it can be difficult at times.
I’m Often in a High Limit Room
Given the size of my bets, I will frequently spend a good chunk of my time in the high limit room. They tend to be quieter, with less players, and so it’s an easier process for them to know whose machine is the one who hit a jackpot.
There’s also often dedicated slot attendants working those areas, so the wait for them to show up and assist tends to be less as well.
I Always Use My Players Card
My play adds up quickly, and so can the perks for playing at the level I do, so I always use my players card when recording content (and even when not recording content, when I’m playing on my own time).
But that also means my players card is recorded when I hit a jackpot, and gives the slot attendant that extra little piece of information as to whose jackpot it was.
Takeaway
Overall things go pretty smoothly – the casinos I regularly visit know who I am, and have gotten used to my preference to keep things moving. It’s definitely a perk of what I do, and allows me to continue the slot play you enjoy whether live or captured for future video content.

Worst case scenario…can’t they go to the videotape? And isn’t it a felony when someone tries to steal your money? And should I be starting a sentence with and?
We imagine some casinos are more willing to go through that trouble than others. But since unlike, say, a ticket getting swiped it involves their employees more directly, they tend to be a bit more cautious to begin with.
The grammar inclined may not like a sentence starting with “and.” And we’re OK with breaking those rules on occasion too ;)
