Here’s our latest batch of question from Brian’s fans about his opinion on various things related to casinos!
I already know your minimum for tipping on handpays, my question is there a maximum? If you won say $10,000 or more .. would you still tip 1%? Daniel C.
Personally, I still tip 1% on a $10k win, and would do the same on a $100,000 win. My max tipping is probably $10,000. At the end of the day, it’s a tip for service, and with a tip like that, they should sure be happy. It also depends on the property. If the money all goes to ONE person, I may choose to hand out $1k to each person I see working there instead.
I see that you sometimes throw in $1000’s of dollars into the same machine trying to hit. Do you believe that it will because of the money your feeding it? Sandra B.
A slot machine doesn’t care the amount you put in the machine, it only cares about what your bet is. So if you bet $X, then you are eligible for X% back over the long term – based on the RNG (random number generator). Since I do bigger bets, I put more money in. But it sure as heck doesn’t change my luck.
Brian is Canadian… and sorry if this is too personal… is there a specific reason(s) why you don’t gamble in Canada as well? Darryl K.
Because I don’t live in Canada, haha. I may visit one here or there with family, but they’re much more strict on filming policies there, so that’s why I don’t film there.
What do you do with all the fan gifts and what are some of your favorites? Sue L.
Majority of them are in our office on display on my desk or on the wall. A select few make their way to my house as well. My favorite ones are the edible kinds, haha. I do love chocolate, and then I can share it with my team!
How is it possible to play as often as you do without going bankrupt?
Everyone will go bankrupt playing slots if you play with everything you have. So I just use a portion of my earnings from YouTube or Facebook to fund the game play. ALWAYS use an entertainment budget, whether it’s for your own fun, or a channel!
What did you learn about slots during your development of BC’s Pop’N Pays More that you didn’t know previously? Michael L.
Mathematics plays a huge role, which I knew, but not to that extent. I wanted certain things to happen to which I was told it was too complicated to make happen. Also I was very firm that I didn’t want the typical 9,10,J,Q,K on the screen. It never made sense to me that they would be on a slot machine anyhow. Instead I wanted actual symbols that related to the game itself. They told me that we had to use the normal (boring) symbols, because people are used to them and can easily tell the value of each one as they progress.
We have learned through BC Slots how to tip when receiving a hand pay. My question is, is it appropriate to tip our casino host? If so, what would be appropriate? Or should we be thinking along the lines of a Christmas bonus of a gift certificate? Becky L.
This is something I have failed at a lot in the past and hope to do better at. One thing I’ve learned is that while they love wine or champagne, they can often receive dozens of bottles and not know what to do with them. One host suggested I give an Amazon Gift Card which is great, because then you know they’re getting something they love. I also like the idea of gift baskets, gift cards for Starbucks or restaurants – or merchandise from our shop!
Brian do you ever stop your spins or just let them play out?
I am a frequent stopper of my spins…I’m kind of impatient, especially when I see that the first two reels are not a winning combination, I may just stop it. I know full well stopping the reels doesn’t affect the outcome, but I just wanna speed ahead to a bonus or a big win!
Line it up,

If you have a question for Brian, submit it to us and you might see it here in a future post on his blog!

I still do not understand what “hold and spin” is. Can you explain it?
Hi Patti – thanks for your patience while we put together a post answering your question directly. Check it out here!
Hi Brian, I’m a big fan of ultimate fire link. Is there a preference on those that you like best? Secondly, do you have those games in your area at Plaza?
Hey Eulogio! Brian tends to play them all, but now that they have the high limit Ultra Bank version that has led him to playing the classic China and Olvera Street themes most often. Right now only one version of Fire Link is in the Plaza space, which is the Ultimate Fire Link Explosion version.
Do you have a new slot machine coming ?
If so what is it called?
Will it be at Mohegan or Foxwoods?
Hi Randy, Brian’s next slot is coming out early next year, called Brian Christopher’s World Cruise. Placements are up to the casinos, so be sure to let them know you’d like to see it added to their casino floor!
