For those who like to play slots and gamble, Las Vegas is a dream come true. Of course, it’s not the only thing that Vegas has to offer – amazing food, extravagant shows, and some beautiful nature nearby – and so it makes for a popular vacation destination.
We asked players on the Flip The Switch Facebook page what their fondest memories of Las Vegas were. Here’s what some had to say:
- Playing in a live poker tournament. Best part was surprising my mom for her 50th birthday. Matthew S.
- Playing my fav game next to Rod Stewart jamming away at Caesar’s. 1994 Debra H.
- Loved to go to the PBR World Finals…cowboys and families everywhere in the casinos. Fun groups to be around. Carole O.
- Two things. One Hoover Dam. Two my friend bring locked out of her hotel room in her pajamas and security showing up and wanting to know if she had a room there. Faye I.
- Went with the family for my 55th birthday 6 years ago. So much fun checking out all the different sightseeing places and of course a little gambling at different casinos. Barbara P.
- All the bowling tournaments I bowled in with my girlfriends; my husbands 50th birthday with all our friends; and my 60th last year! Marilyn D.
- My Nephews Desert Wedding at Red Rock Park and putting in my last $20 and hitting a $800 win on Haywire Slot before I left to come home! (Back in 2007) Lori G.
- Running from casino to casino with my sister! Kae O.
- Years ago I made a joke about ladies over a certain age in line at the Chippendales show at the Rio. My mother didn’t believe me. Following year we are at the Rio together and guess who is walking around taking pictures with everyone. Chippendale dancers. My mom literally ran around some poker tables to avoid taking a picture with them. One dancer came from the left, the other came from the right, we got a picture in the middle. Ursula W.
- Maybe having my son’s 10th birthday when he fell asleep at a restaurant. And then his 21st when he walked into Señor Frogs with his license on his forehead. But so many and many more to come. Judy C.
- The first time we went was for a Napa Convention. We had never gambled before. We wandered into Slots of Fun. My husband and I played for about 5 hours on $20 playing quarters. We used to walk from casino to casino carrying our buckets of quarters. Barbara H.
- Getting married at the Venetian. Come April 27th we’ve been married 10 years. Kristina L.
- People watching on the strip. Melissa B.
- Flying over it for the first time seeing everything lit up! Impressive! Sandra B.

- I always have a good time in Vegas but my best memories are when my mom took my on my 21st birthday 40 years ago WOW. Ellissa T.
- My friends and entertainers “Society of Seven”. They have a star in front of Harrahs. All retired now. Families may still be doing shows in Hawaii. Been a fan since teenager and became friends on a trip. Hoku Low Bert Sagum just a few. Bonny B.
- So many! Fremont Street and the view of the Bellagio from the Eiffel Tower. Vicki L.
