This month, there were a lot of questions from you about group pulls, along with some other topics. As always, I’m happy to answer your questions, so be sure to submit the questions that are on your mind!
What is the highest number of people in a group pull you’ve ever had? I remember at least 100? If memory serves? Patrick F.
Rudies Weekend holds the title of us hosting the most at a group pull, and it’s close to 300 people!
When you have a group pull at the Plaza and it’s all sold out, can anyone watch still or is it just for people in the group pull ? Brenda I.
First off, if a group pull is sold out, there will always be ‘no-shows.’ So still show up and get on a waitlist in person. Our last group pull we were missing 3 people from the $200 group pull and 5 from the $500. Otherwise, we close off a space for our group pulls so participants have space to see the game. It’s a tight space, so it’s even hard for them all to see. That said, you’re more than welcome to watch from behind and be apart of the experience. We can also grab a photo together and you can try our awesome game to win some swag!
One thing I do wonder about the group pulls though, on average how many points would one accumulate through one of these group pulls and do you do group pulls on 2x-5x point nights? Nathan C.
Haha, people obsess over this. First off, I use my card so that all money in and out can be tracked on my win/loss for tax time. Since I offer to cover the cost of all jackpot taxes on the group pulls, if we win large, I want it recorded – and if we lose, I also want that recorded. When you are down on the year, you don’t end up paying taxes so I need to make sure it’s all there legally. Suggesting I do these on point multiplier days is hilarious also. For starters, those are on Wednesdays and they’re awesome and you should all swipe your cards to get up to 10X your points at Plaza. Secondly, we do our group pulls on Tuesdays – NOT point multiplier day, though I think you may get a slice of pizza or cup of coffee with your points that day. And finally, points are useless to Brian Christopher. My name is on the damn sign, haha – I get my room, my food, transportation, whatever else I want covered. I don’t need nor use points.
During a group pull, why does Brian stay seated, pressing the spin button thru the entire pull? Laura M.
We tried a setup where I was standing, but it became awkward looking when people come up to the front who are different heights etc. I also had to stand at the side of the game, and couldn’t actually see what was happening unless I blocked the view of the ‘spinner’. Since I have to be the one to press spin for tax reasons and implications, no one else can touch it. By sitting also, I feel like I give away more of the spotlight to the person ‘spinning’. And to add clarity, if I let someone else do the spinning and they hit a jackpot, they could literally take that money away from the group and there’s nothing we could do to stop them. It’s whoever presses the button that gets the money by law.
If you were too sick to do shows for 3 days would you cancel or sub in Marco or Raymond? Roger O.
It came up once when I was feeling under the weather the day prior, and asked that same question to Marco and Raymond. I’ll be honest, neither one of them felt up to the challenge but of course said they’d take one for the team. Luckily I was feeling better and was able to take it over. I’d hate to put that pressure on them, but we are a team and we don’t want to let you all down!
Does Marco always travel with you and where is he when your gambling? When you go to a casino do you go at certain times? I just saw you at MGM Detroit doing online betting. Wish you would put dates on your videos and when you are at the casino please say the day and date you are there. Pam D.
Marco travels with me 90% of the time. When I’m gambling, he’s busy at his full time job as SVP Operations of our company. It’s a ton of work, so he’s upstairs on his computer in our hotel room. As much as I would love to share with everyone when I’m filming – that’s basically inviting hundreds of people to come and interrupt me while I’m doing MY work, haha. I know it doesn’t seem like work – and I also don’t mind saying hit to fans in between games, however when we are stopped constantly, it strains our production schedule. We prefer to let fans know just when we will be able to give them more time at meet and greets instead.
I go to a casino once a month. I go to Caesars Windsor in Windsor Canada, just over the bridge from Detroit. Did you ever think about playing in Casino Caesars Windsor? I would love to get up there to meet you. I watch you every night before I go to sleep. Love seeing you and Marco. You two are so cute. Sylvia
We have spoken to them and are eager to make this happen in the future! I can never promise anything, but it’s a goal of mine for sure.
On a recent video BC hit a jackpot that was literally like $1.50 shy of $5,000. In a case like that, could he have handed the slot attendant $1.50 when they came to begin the validation and payout process, so when they returned they could bring a stack of banded money instead of loose and banded? Jim S.
I have done that in the past when I went to the cashier to claim my jackpot and it worked fine. To hand them money on the floor and have them walk away with it? I think it may depend on the rules of the casino, but I wouldn’t think it would be a big problem. It would sure help with my wallet that is always full of singles!
Line it up,
