Over the past few years, there’s been a big change on casino floors where more new slots are taking up a chunk of the floor, and many of the older slots have fallen away. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t fans of the old school machines, including the author of this question:
Do you ever play the old Aristocrat games like Pelican Pete? Its a very fun game that pays well . maybe you should try it sometime for something different.

There are definitely older games I like to break out periodically, such as Super Cherry and Wedding Party. But there is one primary reason why you don’t see me breaking out the really old games on the casino floor very often – they look horrible on camera!
Games with the old TV screens or reels can have faded displays or symbols, and busted or even muted speakers. Some even have a flicker when filmed on a modern camera like an iPhone.
Newer slots are designed with the expectation they’ll be filmed; Everi even took the time to share with me that when they updated their mechanical reel slot, they invested time to ensure the lightning didn’t flicker on it like their previous one.
That’s not to say I don’t enjoy the classics (I played some Enchanted Unicorn the other day!), but if they pop up on a newer slot cabinet that is brighter, bigger and easier to film, I’m going to be more likely to play that version than the really old version.
And sometimes, when I see a game I haven’t seen in a really long time, I may still film and play it, just because it’s one of those games you won’t see around that often (and I do love those slots as well).
Ever since I started my channel, trying to up the quality of what’s being shared with viewers has been a consistent goal, and so that’s why I’ll make those decisions, among others, to ensure an optimal viewing experience, regardless of whether you’re watching on a mobile phone or a big screen TV. But let me tell you, the next time I see a Pelican Pete, I’ll be sure to play it for you!
