Base Game
Money Gong is a 5×3 reel set with 243 ways to win. Stacked symbols can help build up the line hits, an exciting opportunity on this sort of structured game. Bets start at 88 cents on the one cent denomination, but once again here IGT offers an incremental step just above that 88 cent mark for those players who are more comfortable in that $1-$1.50 range.
Green moneyballs with credit prizes, jackpots and the Money Gong bonus appear on all of the reels.
The slot features six overall jackpots, of which three are flat jackpots that adjust with your bet, and three progressive jackpots that are linked to all bet levels. These are won during the Lock & Respin Bonus.
Lock & Respin Bonus
Six or more moneyballs will automatically trigger the Lock & Respin Bonus, but less than six can still trigger it randomly, with the gong filling in the number needed to start the bonus.
The standard baseline rules apply – you’ve got three spins to land another prize, which locks and resets the counter to three spins. Go three spins without landing a prize, or filling the board (which awards the Grand jackpot progressive), and the bonus is over.
Credit prizes, jackpots and the Money Gong Bonus can be awarded during the Lock & Respin. The gong also will help you along, with four upgrades it can trigger on any spin:
- Multiplier: One or more moneyballs are multiplied, with each being able to be multiplied anywhere from 2x to 8x
- Prize Boost: A big prize is drawn and added to one existing moneyball
- Empress: Vortex Pays: One moneyball value is increased by vortex values collected from the moneyballs around it
- Emperor: Repeat Pays: One moneyball value is increased by a set amount, but can be increased by that amount a number of times until the gong exhausts itself
Money Gong Bonus
The Money Gong bonus is triggered from the Lock & Respin bonus, and starts with an empty matrix with eight empty positions. These prizes tend to be of a higher range than the regular Lock & Respin, underscoring its additional benefit as an occasional bonus in the bonus.
Filling all eight spaces awards the Money Gong Jackpot, a second-tier progressive awarded only on this bonus. No gong upgrades are available in this part of the bonus.
Free Games
Three free games symbols on the middle three reels awards free games, but they can also be won randomly. Two pots above the reels offer free games, and up to 18 free games can be awarded.
During the free spins the gong can send down additional wilds above and beyond those that land naturally on the reels during the bonus. The Lock & Respin bonus can also be triggered during the free games.
