It’s time to go back to the players card bogeyman again! Some players don’t trust being tracked, and believe being tracked means they’ll be targeted. Here’s a couple of recent examples:
I’ve had various fellow gamblers tell me not to play all the time with my players card inserted, especially if I have received free perks, like a free room or meals. They told me wins are few and far between until the casino gets the value of those perks back. Is it better to play with or without your player’s card?

If you win a nice payout on your card, do not use it again. They will take your money back if you do.

We know why players believe this is true, and it’s a pretty simple reason: Casinos are designed to make money, and every game in the casino is designed to support that goal. So the logical likelihood of losing some or all of your money after a big win is pretty good, in part because that’s what the slots and tables and so on are there to do.
But that has nothing to do with a player’s card. Casinos don’t need to rely on the player’s card for that at all! They simply need to turn on or open up games with that house edge baked in, and let gamblers gamble.
The perks they give you are designed to encourage you to visit, and once you’re there, you’ll gamble. Nice payouts are great, but if gamblers keep gambling, that means money is being risked, and therefore can be lost.
Your players card doesn’t change anything about that element, and there is no functional way they can impact machine or table payouts.
But on the other hand, those comps that players like Cathy get are earned because your play is tracked on a card. If you choose to play without a card, your offers will disappear, because the casino didn’t know you played. The card is how they know you played.
So if you’re fearful about losing your perks, the worst thing you could do is use your perks and then play without a card. The casino will think you took all the goodies and didn’t give play in return, and their response will be to reduce or remove your comps.
