MGM Rewards has been making some regular adjustments to its program over the past year and a half since its relaunch. One of the relatively recent additions is among its more helpful for regular Las Vegas players.
They have introduced a daily tier bonus system, which they call a Daily Tier Credit Accelerator, that rewards players with extra tier credits if they earn a certain number of tier credits in a day. As of the last update of this article, the program was scheduled to end September 30, 2026, but as with other MGM promotions this date could change as the end date approaches (in fact, this program was already extended numerous times since we first published this article).
Tier Credit Accelerator Milestones
There are four milestones available – players will earn the largest milestone they achieve in a single day:
- Earn 5,000 tier credits in a day, receive a 1,250 tier credit bonus
- Earn 10,000 tier credits in a day, receive a 5,000 tier credit bonus
- Earn 20,000 tier credits in a day, receive a 20,000 tier credit bonus
- Earn 40,000 tier credits in a day, receive a 60,000 tier credit bonus
Based on these milestones, you can earn Gold in two days at the third tier (or in five days off the second tier), or earn Platinum in two days off the top tier (or Gold in one day off the top tier).
Hard Dollar Value at Higher Tiers
Both Gold and Platinum MGM Rewards tiers offer helpful and valuable perks. For instance, Gold members get resort fees waived and $100 in MGM Rewards Points. Platinum gets $200 more in MGM Rewards Points, as well as a flight reimbursement to Vegas up to $600.
For players who play often (or big) in the MGM ecosystem, these can be very helpful ways to get to those levels more quickly and attain those bonuses.
Things to Keep in Mind
To take advantage of these accelerators, it’s helpful to keep the following in mind:
- These are only offered at Las Vegas MGM Resorts destinations. You can not take advantage of them in regional properties like Springfield or Detroit, for instance.
- Players should consider how their budget is spread out. If you would normally earn 5,000 tier credits in a day, would it make sense to earn 10,000 in one day instead to get the bigger bonus? Consider your budget and play in a way that makes sense for you.
- Earnings are not just on gambling – your non-gaming casino spend tier credits count towards your bonus as well! So hotel stays, restaurant spend and so on linked to your card will also accrue tier credits and count towards your tier credit accrual.
- Late night players players take note: A day for MGM’s purposes is midnight to midnight.
- As noted at the top of the article, this promotion is scheduled to end September 30, 2026.
- And finally, and always, don’t play solely for comps. But do play in a way that lets you maximize your benefits!
Tier bonuses are a helpful way for you to earn and maintain a status level that your play offers you – this is a helpful addition to MGM Rewards that can help players accrue tier credits a bit faster.

MGM TIER ACCELERATOR DAYS I BELIEVE ARE TILL 4 OR 6 AM, AT LEAST THEY WERE LAST YEAR. THE ADJUSTMENTS WERE USUALLY MADE BY NOON OF THE NEXT DAY.
Thanks for your comment Jim! At some point last year, they changed the daily window to be midnight to 11:59 pm. It’s confirmed in the FAQ on their page.
