‘Jackpots are sizable amounts of money for many, so it may not always be a player’s preference to carry around that amount in cash. Here’s a question from a player:
When you get a handbay, especially a larger one, do you have to take it in cash? Is there a check option? Or electronic deposit?
Deborah
Thanks for the question, Deborah! In most cases you don’t have to accept it in cash.
We’ve definitely encountered examples of players being able to receive their jackpot in the form of a check. We’ve also seen examples of players getting a split payout, where part of it is in cash and part of it is in check.

Generally speaking, you do need to ask them for what options are available, as they will default to cash as many players prefer to receive it that way. But with some rare exceptions, casinos can accommodate this request.
The place where we haven’t seen this as available is cruise ships, which given the way they operate vs. a land-based casino, can make a bit more sense. Ships themselves aren’t necessarily equipped to offer a check, so it’d be most likely something that would have to be sent out at some point after the cruise from the home office instead of the instant gratification of being handed a check or cash.
As such, we haven’t seen that option offered on a ship ourselves, although that doesn’t mean it’s not universally offered – we just haven’t encountered it as an option.
The same goes more broadly for electronic deposit options – to date we have not encountered that as an option. However, with many banks doing mobile deposit of checks nowadays, that probably takes the edge off the casino needing to make this option available, since mobile deposit can clear a check pretty quickly.
Have you encountered a different option than above? Or have you had success getting a check on a cruise ship, or an electronic payment from a casino for a jackpot? Share your experiences in the comments below!

I think it would be interesting if on a group pull a win percentage was set and if you hit that, say 25% the pull would be over and the profit would be split. That way everyone would be a winner.
Hey Tony! With Brian’s group pulls the structure is based on everyone putting in a certain amount, but also everyone getting a certain amount of spins. If the group pull were stopped early, that would mean some percentage of people wouldn’t get a chance to take their spins.
On scenarios where that’s not the structure, however, that could certainly open a different way of pursuing success, although we’ve had group pull outcomes (albeit somewhat rare) where players have doubled their money or more, an outcome that might not have happened if the group pull was stopped early. So hopefully putting your idea out into the ether inspires some to consider other scenarios for group pulls!
