When you get an offer from a physical casino, it tends to be various forms of comps. Here’s your free play or match play, here’s your food credit, here’s your hotel room nights, and so on.
Online casinos are a bit more complex. There’s more types of offers, and more rules that tend to go around them.
So let’s take a look at the structure of online offers, and what you have to do to qualify.
Types of Offers
First off, there’s multiple types of offers that exist, many of which that take advantage of the unique nature of online play, such as the ability to track everything and have an on-site balance. Here are the types of offers we see most frequently.
- Deposit Match: A deposit match allows you to receive a bonus, usually as a percentage of your deposit, that are additional funds to play with.
- Lossback Rebate: This is sort of the reverse of the deposit bonus in that you’re rewarded when your balance goes down, not when reloaded. A lossback will rebate a percentage of your losses within a certain window of time.
- Play and Get: Many offers will require you to play a certain amount on a game or type of game, and then once you make a certain amount of wagers you’ll qualify for a bonus.
- Leaderboards: While not necessarily an offer for you, leaderboards also have components of playing certain games to earn points, and being awarded prizes based on your placement in the leaderboard.
What to Pay Attention to on Offers
There are a few aspects of offers online you have to pay attention to, which also differs from the more straightforward in-person casino offers.
- Opt-in Requirements: Many times you must remember to opt in for an offer before being able to participate in it. Missing this critical step will mean missing out on the benefits of an offer.
- Offer Stacking: Sometimes offers can be approached in a way that lets you work towards multiple goals at once (say, leaderboard points while navigating a deposit bonus). Others may require you to complete one offer before approaching the next. And these rules may differ by casino.
- Playthrough Requirements: A playthrough requirement is how many times you have to play through a bonus before you can withdraw it as cash. Some offers can have a requirement of as little as 1x through; we’ve seen examples of 25x on the high end.
- Time Limits: Like physical casino offers, there’s usually a time limit in which you can use an offer. For the purposes of online offers there may be both a time limit to accept an offer, and then a time limit on how long you have to complete an offer.
Takeaway
Online offers have more diversity, but also more complexity, than their casino counterparts. Spending a bit of time to get acclimated with how they can work can not only make sure you know how to take advantage of them, but ensure you’re not leaving extra credit on the table.
