If you hit it really big, one aspect many have to determine is whether to share the news with others – there’s pros and cons to that information getting out there. But you don’t have that choice with the casino you won it at. That led a player to this question:
After a player wins a significant jackpot, does the casino offer more perks/privileges to that player in an effort to reclaim some of their money back?

There’s no one size fits all approach to this question – each casino handles comps differently, and that can include what sort of marketing efforts they make to players who have a larger budget that they know of.
We’ve heard complaints from players over the years that their comps were cut off because they won too much – some casinos tell those players to self comp. We could sort of guess how they might handle one of those massive wins.
But then we’ve also heard of casinos that will offer players rooms, food comps, etc. to wait out the time that it takes to validate some of those bigger jackpots.
One thing that should be noted is for many of the biggest jackpots, they’re not paid by the casino, but by the slot maker, which is how they’re able to be offered to begin with, as the jackpot reaches beyond a single casino.
In those cases it’s not the casino that’s paying that out, but they are still aware of the big win, so they might use that information to their advantage to try to woo a player back in to play some of that money at the casino.
So it could go both ways – some casinos will tighten the belt, others will wine and dine. For some, how a casino might treat them might make a difference, so it never hurts to ask other players when you see higher rollers to learn how a casino treats them in case it’s one day you!
