Despite Brian Christopher’s journey being documented day by day for almost nine years, many people still have a misconception about how Brian operates. Here are recent examples:
Nothing better than promoting a casino playing casino money so you can make people run in there 🤣😂🤣😂

Brian is on the casinos’ payroll people. Please pay attention. Have you ever seen him putting money in the machine? No no no no. It’s programmed especially for him, ok? He has a special code to play okay?

Let us break some myths, and pull back the curtain on what it means when Brian is sponsored by a casino.
Many presume in part that it means Brian’s trip is paid for by the casino. Given the level of Brian’s bets, any player of his level would receive room and food comps, for instance – no surprise there.
Like other entertainers making an appearance, Brian might receive an appearance fee as well when he is promoting a casino or hosting events. Just like a musician performing a show or a reality show star promoting a casino nightclub, Brian’s no different in that regard.
Where things get confused by many is the actual casino play. Let’s go through some of the many presumptions we see in comments all the time.
Brian’s Playing With House Money
Brian’s an advocate of, and sticks 100 percent to, what’s known as Authentic Play. That means you’re seeing the real deal – it’s real money (not house money), with Brian locking in actual wins or losses, and Brian’s authentic reaction to that game play. He sets his own budget, decides what he’s willing to put on the line, and personally deals with the wins and losses himself.
Brian does also often receive free play, as does any player who gambles on the casino floor, similar to comped rooms and meals. He will usually play that on his own time, or with the Rudies as part of their live stream. When he’s playing with free play, whether in casinos or online, he notes this during his recordings and live streams. But again, whether he’s playing online or in a casino, it’s money he’s chosen to put on the line, not money given to him for that purpose.
The Slots Are Set to a Higher Payback for Him
Casinos don’t have the ability to decide whether Brian wins or loses. Even if casinos had the ability to set a slot machine to pay over 100 percent (which they don’t – such a setting doesn’t exist), the random number generator can still deliver a losing session in the short term. Casinos don’t have control over each spin to decide if Brian’s a winner or not.
There are also lots of regulations, whether playing in casinos or on an online site like BetMGM, that casino operators have to abide by, and that includes how the slot functions. Randomness is a critical part of this, and that means casinos can’t guarantee a winning outcome when Brian plays on a live stream.
Anyone who sees Brian playing in a physical casino, in particular, can watch as he moves from machine to machine throughout a live stream – no one’s even sure (including Brian) what games will be played at the start of a live – depending on his mood, which machines are open, if he wants to play high limit, etc. That tends to be worked out in real time, and casinos wouldn’t be able to keep up even if such an option existed.
On the day we wrote this, two minutes prior to the start of a live stream, a fan was shocked when they asked what machine Brian was starting on, and he didn’t know.
Brian Isn’t Putting Money Into the Machine
Some players get confused when they see him putting $1,000, $2,000 or more into a slot at one time nowadays. One practical consideration is that U.S. currency caps out at $100 bills. That means if Brian wants to put $1,000 in a machine, he has a few options:
- Feed $100 bills in one at a time, while thousands of people watching wait for this process to complete.
- Create tickets before the live, so only one item needs to be put into the machine.
- At casinos like Yaamava’ that offer cashless gaming, use the cashless system to put any amount of money into a machine.
So while it’s true that Brian’s not generally feeding bills into a machine on camera, he is indeed putting real money in there, just using systems that won’t create a long lag when people are there to watch him play. Isn’t that nice of him?
Brian’s Not Emotionally Impacted Because It’s Not Real
This one hurts the most, in every aspect. People claim Brian always wins, that he doesn’t seem to be impacted by his losses. He does. He puts a strong face on for the camera, because his goal is to uplift and entertain, but losing sessions are emotionally draining for anyone and Brian’s no exception. He loses, just like everyone else.
The thing about Authentic Play is that it only works if, like Brian, you record it all and share it all. While Brian’s biggest wins can be quite memorable, both for him and for those watching, his losses are out there to see too. Brian shared that in 2023 he lost more than $300,000 playing slots – if it wasn’t real, that shouldn’t even be possible!
Brian’s an Employee of the Casino
Some people get confused – if he’s being sponsored by the casino, isn’t he an employee? The answer is no. Just like any other entertainment options brought into the casino, they may be paid a fee, but they’re not an employee.
Spend a bit of time reading about some of the Vegas performers and you’ll see that some love to play tables or slots too! They’re allowed to play at the casino, even the casino at which they perform or appear, and are responsible for their wins and losses. It’s no different for Brian.
Takeaway
When you see Brian Christopher playing slots, you can be assured it’s Authentic Play. We can’t speak to what other channels do, but when it comes to Brian, he’s playing with his own funds, or on occasion his own free play, but ultimately the wins and losses are his to bear. He chooses the machines, the bets, how long he wants to play – that’s all within his control. As for other channels, we can’t speak for them
And ultimately, you can see him doing this in person on the casino floor, or even when playing BetMGM online as those videos are shot in places like the casino floor at MGM Grand Detroit. This commitment to transparency means what you’re watching is the real deal.

I use Brian as a learning curve. I like some of the games he plays and I look for them when I go to the casino.
Would you believe Brian started out doing the same thing, Dennis? Before he recorded his first set of videos, he watched other videos online to get a feel for what type of games were in Vegas. We’re glad our videos can do the same for your casino trips!
I have been a #Rudie4Life member and subscriber for about 6 1/2 years now and have watched Brian put his heart and soul, not to mention his time and sweat into making this business of his grow and blossom into a very profitable career. He is transparent and honest in what he does. ♥️
That’s awfully kind of you to say Joy, and we absolutely love having you as part of our Rudies community! We really believe our community is something special, and it’s primarily thanks to people like yourself.
I wondered that in the beginning but have watched him enough I believe he is using his own money. I m sure you will never convince the critics. I enjoy watching and I always believed if you bet big you always win but I ve seen many videos where he has lost. He has millions of followers and he should get compensated when he promotes a game or event. No body does anything for free. He s a great ambassador for Vegas. Keep it up Brian
Thanks Judy! We’ll continue to help people understand the reality of things one step at a time – there’s always new people discovering Brian and the channel, and that’s why we have opportunities like Flip The Switch to answer those questions!
Picture me fooled! I thought for sure that Raymond chose the games that Brian played :>)
You caught us! ;) Although to be fair, he does pick the games on occasion, but in a similar manner to Brian!
