Sometimes you just need to check in with some familiar friends, even if only online. In Buffalo and Friends, Aristocrat Interactive joins multiple popular themes together in one game.
Read on to see how they added a fun twist to the traditional Buffalo style of game you’ve probably played before thanks to the help of More Chilli, Cashman, and Wicked Winnings. Plus, we’ll share where you can play online for real money!
Base Game
If you’ve played any of the Buffalo family of games, the paytable and other mechanics of this particular game will feel familiar. The game pays left to right with the buffalo symbol being worth the most. The buffalo is followed up by the semi-premium eagle, cougar, wolf, and elk. The game, of course, also includes the standard poker symbols 9,10,J, Q, K, and A.
Line hits get some help thanks to the sunset wilds that can appear on reels two, three, and four. The sunset wilds can get even better, as they have the ability to include either a 2x or 3x multiplier. When multiple wilds, especially with multipliers, lock into place, this game has some real win potential!
A Variety of Free Games
Like any Buffalo game, you’re looking for at least three coins to land on the screen. Coins can appear on any of the five reels. The more coins you get, the more free games you will start the bonus with. If you trigger the bonus with under three coins, you can randomly trigger the bonus, you will start with eight free games. Four coins equates to 15 free spins and a rare five coin trigger will bestow a whooping 20 games. At least two coins on any one spin during the free games will award additional spins (with two coins adding 5 spins to the counter).
There are a few differences when it comes to the coins in Buffalo And Friends compared to other Buffalo games. First, like we briefly mentioned above, there is a chance you can trigger the bonus with less than the standard three coins. Every time a coin lands on your screen, it shoots over to the left to be added to the different colored firecrackers. Those different colored firecrackers are the other thing- and definitely the most important. The coins and their corresponding firecrackers are color coded to three different bonuses.
- More Chilli Red Coin: The big draw of More Chilli is that you can play up to four sets of reels at one time during the bonus… that is if things go your way. In this bonus, you start with two reels unlocked. While spinning, you are hoping for more red chili symbols to appear on those reels. You unlock the 4th reel by collecting nine of the peppers while the 4th requires 14. Chillis don’t block line hits either; if you land one, it will transform into a buffalo (just for that one spin), after it is added to the chili counter. While this action alone won’t guarantee a win, it’s a start!
The red chili peppers only appear during the Buffalo Free Games with More Chilli only, you can’t find them in the base game.
- Cashman Green Coin: For Cashman, you’ll get a variety of multipliers and respins to kick up the bonus action. Cashman can randomly appear during the Buffalo Free Games. When he appears he can award one, or a combination of, four different bonuses.
- The first option is his ability to multiply a winning free game by either 3x, 5x, or 10x.
- Bonus two can happen after any non-winning spin. All reels will randomly respin giving you another crack at landing a win.
- If Buffalos are what you’re after, you are going to want bonus three. When Cashman awards the third bonus option, he can convert up to 14 symbols to buffalo. Like the other bonus options, this applies only to one spin.
- The last option, Bonus four, can happen after any free game is completed. You can make a random pick for either free games or get your coins multiplied by your bet.
Yes, you can trigger some of the bonus options together but not all. Bonus two and three do not work together. Bonus four can’t come out to play if any other bonus has already made an appearance during that specific spin. While in bonus two, if you score a reel power win during a respin, either a 3x, 5x, or 10x multiplier will be awarded.
- Wicked Winnings Purple: If you’ve played Wicked Winnings, you know that the bonus features expanded wild stacks that can translate to big wins! The wild symbol, featuring the title character, only appears when the Buffalo Free Games with Wicked Winnings is triggered. She will not appear during the base game. When the icon lands, it expands into a full wild reel and will award one respin. If you get another, it will expand again and you’ll enjoy another respin. You can repeat this process until you’ve either filled all the middle reels with wilds, or stop landing our purple haired friend.
Now that you know what the coins mean, it is time to get excited! You can trigger more than one bonus at a time, the dream result would be scoring all three. While taking the game for a spin on $4 demo spins, we triggered the Cashman and Wicked Winnings combined bonus. During our eight spins, we saw each of the features just once. Our Cashman feature was Bonus One, we received a 3x multiplier.
