In a previous op/ed our editor made the case for self-service drink stations. We asked players on our Flip The Switch Facebook page to weigh in – does their casino have them, and what do they think of them? Here’s some of the responses we received:
- The self service beverage station is a must!! We have them in all our casinos for the most part in WI. Mark B.
- We do. But sometimes the Pepsi doesn’t have the right amount of syrup and it comes out really watery. Brian L.
- Yes and I like being able to get a soda but now that they are there the beverage servers come around a lot less often and most of the drinks we get you can’t get from the self serve stations. Amanda C.
- Most of the casinos I tend to go to have them which I love. It just makes it easier to get a drink instead of having to flag someone down. Diana T.
- Nope. I wish they did. Sometimes you don’t see drink person for hours! Parris A.
- Yep but I don’t drink pop…or coffee after 3:00 lol Dianna W.
- I prefer self serve because I can have it right when I want it and not fear that I’m working some server to death for something so small. No problem enlisting their help and tipping when I need to. But it’s not a sit down restaurant where I’m specifically looking for someone else to do all the work so I can just relax and enjoy. Annette L.
- The one closest to us has self serve. I like it, no waiting for a busy server. Angela C.
- Some do and some don’t. Alcohol is free but requires 30 minutes between drinks. I love the self serve but I hate the small paper cups! The bar will give you a “real glass” for soda if you ask. Just use the paper cups to refill your glass. They pass around water bottles frequently too. I play at the highest casino in the world but they have no beverage stations..really wish they would bring them back. Deljean J.
- No we don’t have them. Never did. Only place we ever had it was our little slot palor in Massachusetts but that was before covid. It has never returned. I wish it would. Laura S.
- Ilani has these and I use them often. I do wish they still had the bottled water stations throughout the casino as they did in the past. Connie M.
- I love soda which is my weakness so I am glad Vegas here does not have the self service beverage machines. When the M Resort first opened they did but then they took them away. Benjamin B.
- Mine doesn’t, Yaamava, and I never see the people with the carts when I’m looking! I wish they did have them. Tricia A.
- Minnesota has them and I love it. No waiting for a server and it saves on tipping for coffee or soda. Chris G.
- I like them, but one of my locals just got rid of them. Stacey R.
