Casino players like to visit the casino, of course, but how often they visit ranges widely, and so do the reasons for it. So we asked on our Flip The Switch Facebook page how often players visited, and what leads to that frequency. Here’s some of what we learned
Location, Location, Location
Sometimes it’s just about where you live relative to a casino. It’s easy to visit more frequently if one is nearby. Sometimes location yields other considerations, like weather, too!
- Two or three times a year….where I live. Hope L. (Hope, a member of the Rudies, lives in a state that doesn’t offer any casinos.)
- Sadly I’ve only gone twice. Once was in Phoenix after my grandpa’s funeral and only for an hour. The other time was for my 30th birthday with my husband. Child care and money are the two biggest things. We have 5 kids, lol. I’m hoping to eventually be able to go more often but the nearest places are Eagle Pass and Louisiana. I’d rather save up to go to Vegas and go less often. Amanda D.
- I average 3 times a month. Less if my schedule and Minnesota weather doesn’t jibe. Chris G.
- 3-5 times a month. If my work takes me to a city where there is a casino (or close to one) I will stop for a bit. Also my favorite casino in the state I try to visit once a month with the generous free room comps, free play etc that they give me. Mark B.

Casino Offers
Some players make it out to the casino regularly to capture the offers they’re getting to visit.
- Free play and gifts. At least once a week. Yolanda G.
- Free play for me too! Otherwise once a month. Kathy D.
- I live close to casino but only go about once a week. If i get freeplay of $5 or free food credits i go right away. Don’t want to miss freeplay or free food. Gifts do not attract me unless it’s a free vacation. Nancy-Clyde S.
- free play is major determining factor … if it is worth the gas and drive of an hour then we go once a week … if not then maybe once a month. Pam P.
Budget
We always advise that players go to a casino and only play with their entertainment budget, so it stands to reason some players base when they go on when their budget allows.
- Not as much as I’d like. Finances play a big part in when I can go. Angela C.
- i try to go 1 time per month and if the buget is there maby 2 a month. Chantal B.
Something to Do
When a casino is local enough to where someone lives, it can just be part of the normal rotation of things to do in town.
- We go once a week, just something to do on a Friday night. Beth F.
