One of the cool features about Brian Christopher’s Pop’N Pays More is the additional Rocket Rollup feature (which also features on other games by Gaming Arts). The three must-hit by progressives offer an additional opportunity for big wins for just an extra few credits per spin.
But players have noticed over time that it’s not always present:
I noticed at my local casino the Brian Christopher slot machine does not have the Rocket Roll feature on it, why?Jodi
While the game can include it, it doesn’t have to. It can be for a few reasons:
The Machine’s Height
Sometimes space limitations are to blame. We noticed on the Carnival Magic it was missing, and it was because the additional screen at the top where the progressives would display would’ve made the game too tall, so the decision was made not to include that feature so they could order the shorter version of the machine.
Local Gaming Regulations
It’s possible that the Rocket Rollup feature isn’t available in certain markets, and as such the casino can’t offer it. We can’t say for sure if this is the case, however, but that has been one potential reason why some games slightly differ at times.
Finally, casinos can choose to offer this feature or not, as they can on other Gaming Arts games. They may have decided that’s not a feature they wish to extend, or have found players at their particular casino aren’t very fond of that type of feature, or other various reasons why they may have opted against including that. Or they may have chosen to order that shorter machine, just like Carnival, for reasons that make sense for their casino.
Regardless of the reason, the Rocket Rollup feature is what’s known as an ante bet, an additional bet that adds on an additional feature. So you’ll notice, for instance, when the Rocket Rollup feature is present the game is an 85 credit spin on penny denomination, whereas if it’s not it’s only 75 credits.
That design ensures that the Rocket Rollup feature can be added or subtracted without having any impact on the core game itself, so Brian’s heads and so on will come out at the same frequency and pay amounts regardless of the presence of the Rocket Rollup progressives.
