Marco pops up in Brian Christopher’s videos periodically, as well as on articles here on the site, and whenever he does, we tend to get more questions. Many readers seem to be curious about him, as our previous two articles on him are among the top read articles ever on the site! So it makes sense to take a further look at him as we reach the first anniversary of Flip The Switch.
Here are questions that came in after our two previous articles:
- What Does Brian Christopher’s Husband Marco Do for a Living?
- What is Brian Christopher’s Husband Marco’s Net Worth?
If you haven’t seen those articles yet, you may wish to start there, since some of these questions relate to the information shared there!
Where is Marco from? Does he have a college degree or does he have a trade?
Teresa
Marco was born and raised in El Salvador, Central America, where he lived with his parents and sisters until he finished high school at the French Lycée. As class valedictorian, he received a full scholarship from LASPAU – Harvard University’s Academic & Professional Program for the Americas – to pursue his university studies abroad. He moved to Paris, France at the young age of 17. He celebrated his 18th birthday with champagne and a show at the historic Moulin Rouge!
I watched the recent podcast ‘Don’t Sweat It,’ and Brian mentioned that they lived in Paris while Marco was in college. What was his major?
Cari R.
To meet his credit requirements, Marco had to complete an internship in another country. As fate would have it, he went to Canada, which is where he also met Brian. They hit it off and then settled in Paris for two and a half years while Marco finished his program. He obtained his Master’s Degree in Marketing Communication, which he puts to good use to this day. So if you’re keeping track, French is his second language, with English his third. He also speaks Spanish and Italian, which, unlike Brian, features a broader vocabulary than just “ravioli.” (If you know, you know.)
Where is Marco from? What nationality is Marco? Brian’s family lives in Canada; Marco’s family lives where?
Maria M.
While Marco’s family lives in his hometown of San Salvador, El Salvador, his parents are both of Italian descent. As a result of that and a life spent embracing the world, Marco is the #lucky holder of four nationalities – El Salvador, Italy, Canada, US – and five citizenships (European Citizenship being a bonus level). Not only is the idea that you cannot be multinational a myth… Marco truly is an “international man of mystery.”
What did Marco do before he joined BCSlots? Quite often he would be traveling with you and people would ask where he was and Brian would say something to the effect that Marco had a job and was up in the room working. Obviously he had a job that he could work remotely.

Prior to joining forces professionally with Brian Christopher, Marco had a growing decades-long career in the tech industry, starting out in Toronto, Canada near Brian’s hometown. He worked really hard for fifteen years to move up the ranks at iconic media technology company Yahoo, where he found tremendous success and a circle of colleagues he still calls friends. He did so well there that he was promoted to go work on Yahoo’s global ad exchange, the advertising platform that has helped keep much of the internet free. That’s when Marco and Brian moved to Silicon Valley, and so their California adventure began, not to mention their first trips to Las Vegas. The rest, as we know, is history!
