The 2025-26 NFL season has just drawn to a close, but BetMGM and other sportsbooks are already looking ahead to next year’s odds. The offseason is a minefield of betting hazards. Free agency will be a determining factor in next year’s success, undoubtedly, the NFL Draft will play a crucial role, and injuries will be evaluated as teams eventually start to gear up for OTAs and next season.
While there’s plenty to be determined between now and the participants in Super Bowl LXI, bettors aren’t shying away from any of the action.
Let’s break down the 2027 Super Bowl odds!
Familiar Favorite
Not surprisingly, you’ll find the Seattle Seahawks priced as the odds-on favorite to claim next year’s championship. It’s a common occurrence in the betting world, as recency bias is assuredly a factor, but there’s reason to believe the Seahawks will be back in the mix in 2027.
Seattle heads into next season with most of its core intact. Granted, they’ll have to re-up with Kenneth Walker, otherwise, it’s mostly depth players that will test the free agent market.
Roster composition notwithstanding, we trust Mike Macdonald to run it back with another outstanding analytics season. The Seahawks’ head coach put together one of the most dominant seasons in recent memory, which could birth the NFL’s latest dynasty.
At +800, it’s hard to imagine the Seahawks’ Super Bowl odds moving any direction but up. Casual bettors already can’t get enough of Seattle, with the defending champs accumulating a 9.5% ticket count, highest of any team.
Backlog of Contenders
From there, there are a slew of teams priced just behind the Seahawks. Led by the Los Angeles Rams (+900), 10 other teams are priced at +1700 or lower.
Of note, the Kansas City Chiefs are commanding the biggest market share amongst this top group. As it stands, their 8.0% handle is the third-highest split, and significantly higher than their 5.2% ticket count. That difference represents some big money wagers on the perennial contenders.
Likewise, the Bills, Eagles, and Packers are among the more sharp-backed teams in the running.
Two Hefty Dark Horses
The focus shifts as we inch further down the odds list. Specifically, two teams have already emerged as betting favorites for Super Bowl LXI.
The Denver Broncos’ championship run was cut tragically short following the Bo Nix injury. Still, the sharpest bettors are lining up to get a piece of the Broncos +2000 odds. As it stands, Denver’s 9.2% ticket count is second in volume, whereas its 10.6% handle is unmatched.
Similarly, the Chicago Bears are the NFC darlings. They enter the offseason with +2500 odds to hoist the Lombardi Trophy at Super Bowl LXI. With a 9.1% handle and 7.8% ticket count, some big money wagers are coming in on the Bears.
Not surprisingly, that makes the Broncos and Bears two of BetMGM’s biggest liabilities ahead of next season.
Still Value To Be Had
Despite the top-heavy futures board, there’s still value to be had on the Super Bowl. Let’s not forget, the Seahawks opened as +6600 longshots this season, before climbing the NFL mountain and planting a ‘12’ flag at the summit.
Teams like the Jaguars, Cowboys, and Saints have higher handle than ticket counts, implying some degree of sharp involvement. Likewise, the Giants have emerged as another longshot contender that sharp bettors can’t get enough of.
Final Thoughts
No one is better at commanding the news cycle than the NFL. The season ended two days ago, and we’re already busy dissecting futures odds for Super Bowl LXI. Free agency will precipitate additional movement, with the NFL Draft following weeks later. Before you know it, we’ll be heading into OTAs and getting ready for training camps. At every one of those intervals, it’s important to sit back and re-evaluate your respective futures positions.
