Some slots in the casino let you buy a bonus. But sometimes they don’t, and that has a player asking the obvious question:
Is the buy a bonus feature on every one of these games? I play it, but don’t remember seeing that as an option.

The game Brian Christopher was playing, Coin Trio Fortune Trails, was designed with a bonus buy feature, which Aristocrat (the maker of the game) calls Instant Feature. For a flat fee, you can buy a bonus.
The feature is similar to that of some of the other options on many slots nowadays, like denomination, in that the casino has some control over it, including the ability to disable it altogether if they don’t want to offer that feature.
This has led to confusion among players, who sometimes try to encourage Brian to buy a bonus on, say, a live stream, only for that feature to not be available at the casino he happens to be at at the time.
This is not just limited to the physical world; some online casinos will opt out of some games having a bonus buy feature enabled as well.
The reasons for this can be similar to casinos opting out of larger progressive machines – they may not be willing to take on the risk of someone buying massive bonuses and winning huge, which at those bet levels is a possibility. Or the gaming regulations of a particular area may not allow for such an option, meaning to be in compliance they have to do without that option.
But slots are sufficiently customizable to allow casinos that ability to hide it from use if they either need to or want to, and explains why you may not have noticed it on the machines at your home casino.
