A common theme emerged early in the 2025 NFL season. Since Week 1, NFC West teams have stood above the rest. It’s reflected in their standings, but more importantly, now captured in the NFC Championship Game. Two intra-divisional rivals will battle it out for conference supremacy as they renew acquaintances in the most pivotal game of the season.
The Seattle Seahawks are deserving favorites, but the Los Angeles Rams won’t go down without a fight.

Over the past few weeks, the Seahawks have asserted themselves as the NFL’s premier team. Seattle is riding an eight-game win streak into Sunday’s familiar battle, looking more dominating with each passing performance. They are operating efficiently on offense and deploy an unforgiving defensive unit that is stopping opponents in their tracks. The Rams will need an all-hands-on-deck approach if they hope to contend.
Thankfully, that’s exactly what the Rams have gotten with their most recent efforts. Over its last seven contests, LA has averaged 448.4 total yards of offense per game. Granted, that number is slightly skewed due to a few 500-yard performances. Still, the Rams have eclipsed 395 yards in all but two of those outings. More impressively, they have executed on defense. Three of their last four opponents have been held to 345 yards or fewer.
At the same time, Lumen Field is an unforgiving environment. The Seahawks have won six straight at home, yielding an average 15.7-point margin of victory across that sample. Moreover, they have out-gained their opponents in five of those six contests, with all but one opponent being limited to 335 yards or fewer.
While the Rams were the lone team to out-gain the Seahawks at Lumen Field, scheduling is another factor working against them. This will be LA’s fifth road game in six weeks, bouncing to all areas of the country. That daunting travel could be catching up with them, as the Rams have seen a dramatic decrease in their offensive efficiency the further they wander into the playoffs.
These opponents know each other well, but the Seahawks have a sincere advantage that’s not yet reflected in the betting odds. Until this number moves north of -3, there’s a significant edge backing the home side.
Best Bet: Seahawks -2.5 -110
Zach Charbonnet has been ruled out of the NFC Championship Game with a knee injury. While that points to heavy involvement from Kenneth Walker III, we predict the Seahawks will turn to their passing attack to keep the chains moving. Undoubtedly, Sam Darnold will turn to his favorite target, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and we expect the wideout to respond with one of his best games of the season.
Not surprisingly, JSN leads the Seahawks in every pass-catching metric. His 163 targets are nearly 100 more than the next closest receiver, his 1,793 receiving yards are more than triple the second-place holder, and his 119 receptions were fourth-most in the NFL. Counterintuitively, his presence shrank in the Divisional Round.
In last week’s dismantling of the 49ers, Smith-Njigba was targeted just four times. Casual bettors may point to a decline in his metrics, but sharper minds will recognize this for the betting advantage it is.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba is a prime progression candidate in the NFC Championship. The third-year pro averaged close to 10 targets per game, a benchmark he’s barely limped over his last two games combined. Coming off a three-catch, 19-yard performance, we should see a massive increase in his production versus the Rams.
The cherry on top is LA’s faltering pass. The NFC West runner-ups have allowed 238 or more pass yards in six of their last seven, including 250 or more in each of their last two. Jaxon Smith-Njigba will be the latest receiver to capitalize and is a solid bet to reach 100 receiving yards on Sunday.
Best Bet: Jaxon Smith-Njigba to Record 100+ Receiving Yards +124
Los Angeles Rams vs Seattle Seahawks: NFC Championship Game Best Bets
- Seahawks -2.5 -115
- Jaxon Smith-Njigba to Record 100+ Receiving Yards +124
The Seahawks are deserving favorites, but the betting market is underestimating their chances in this one. We’re backing them to cover the short number at home, adding Jaxon Smith-Njigba to surpass 100 receiving yards for maximum value.
