When it comes to casino visits, the amount of travel required can often have an impact on how frequently a player goes. We were curious to see how far away the casinos were for some of the fans of our Flip The Switch Facebook page, and whether they were happy with that distance.
From the Flip The Switch office, we can reach quite a few casinos in a half hour or less. But some of us (including Brian) have lived farther away from the casino in the past, an hour roughly one way for a casino trip.
One thing that is interesting to us is the diversity of answers – despite more than 1,000 places to physically gamble in the U.S., there’s still parts of the country that are far from a casino.
- 5 hour plane ride…. Probably a good thing to keep me from myself lol! Hope L.
- 1.5 hrs – I’m good with that. Used to live 10 mins from the casino. Found myself there too often! Diane G.
- Well I used to be about one and a half hours away but I had to move closer to my sister since I lost my mom and dad so I am now about 10 hours from my favorite non-smoking casino. Looking to see if there is one not so far we will see. Faye I.
- It’s 2 hrs to the closest one, but 4.5 hours to my favorite. Wish it were closer so I could go more than 4 times a year. Brennen C.
- Around 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours no casinos in Kentucky Rosemary T.
- Used to be an hour, now a new one opened a while ago and it’s 20 minutes with traffic. Lynda S.
- Tampa hard Rock is the closest. 1/2 hour to 45 minutes depending on traffic and no accidents. Closer would be dangerous lol Tina D.
- One hour and twenty minutes. I wish it was just down the street??? Oh maybe not Ellissa T.
- About 1 1/2 hrs when I’m in Colorado and 3 hrs when in Southern Missouri. Definitely wish I was closer! Randy W.
- The 2 closest are 20 minutes away. There are 2 more about 40 to 50 minutes away. Jon W.
- Anywhere from 50 minutes to almost 2 hrs. I live in a very rural area so it’s expected. I just wish I lived in Vegas…LOL!!! Patti K.
- Have to drive 3 1/2 hours to the casino… would love one closer…but that might not be too good… Andrea A.
