Lightning Link and Dragon Link are sibling games with about a decade of time on the casino floor and counting. Both games have retained their popularity, and are ubiquitous on casino floors.
One player wonders if one is tougher than the other:
Which game is more volatile: Lightning Link or Dragon Link?
Amy K.
Dragon Link is the slightly newer of the two. The general tradition is that a newer game will be more volatile than its predecessor, and that happens to be the case here.

The big tweak between the two is on Dragon Link, all free spin bonuses have six spins to make something happen. On the original Lightning Link, some of the free spin bonus can get up to 10 spins. This makes a difference: When you have less spins, you have less chances to make something happen.
Of course, things were tweaked, so the payout potential is bigger if a hit happens. But since you have less chances, you’ll be more likely to have a bonus that doesn’t improve beyond that initial trigger payout.
Not all of the bonuses in that series are created equal; there’s volatility even within the bonus choices. We’ve previously shared a bit about that, so you can make a decision as to what sort of experience you wish to have.
Of course, both games were on the leading edge of a generation of slots that began to push forward the volatility. If you’re looking for a smoother ride, we’ve got a list of lower volatility slots that can help you out.
And finally, we often get asked whether the bonuses on these games are predetermined or based on the button press. We confirmed with the manufacturer that the bonuses are not predetermined ahead of time, so any bonus has some small chance at providing a Grand jackpot!
