The systems that players come up with are extravagant sometimes. Do they work?
There is another YouTuber out there that talks about Dragon Link and watching the ball amounts as they drop compared to your bet amount. And if the ball amounts that are dropping are not greater than your bet amount that you should switch your bet amount until they are. I don’t play Dragon Link so I don’t follow that, but it does make sense that if a machine isn’t necessarily hitting or giving something back that you should change the amount. So I do agree with that that you should kind of move around if a machine has gone cold.

First of all, this is a neutral sort of decision – a game is designed in the long run to pay back a certain percentage. Switching around denominations isn’t going to change that in any dramatic way, especially in a short session. So if that makes you feel good, have at it!

This ability to switch denominations, and with it, a sense of controlling something, may be part of the reason why the vast majority of those polled on Brian Christopher’s YouTube page prefer slots where you have a choice.
Just be aware it’s not actually doing anything to help you.
You see, you’re making a decision on what just happened on a slot. But any outcome can happen on the next spin. And you will never know if the outcome would have been better, worse or the same when you make the change. You just know what happened to the spin you actually took, at the time you pressed the button.
Looking at the ball values don’t help you because games like Dragon Link have ways of updating those values on any given spin. If you watch enough Dragon Link bonuses you know that on a minority of bonuses bigger prizes come out more regularly (this is what Brian Christopher labels “Big numbers attract big numbers”).
But just because the last spin had small numbers going buy doesn’t mean the next one will. And even if a bonus triggers with small numbers, a big credit prize or Major can still come out within the bonus, which is driven by the RNG and not predetermined.
So that YouTuber’s system isn’t anything real – slots aren’t skill machines that can be “beaten” – they’re mathematically designed to make money for the casino, regardless of whether you sit on one bet or jump around.
But as we said upfront, you’ll never know if it’s better or worse. Emotions are an aspect of gambling. So if it makes you feel better, go for it! But from a performance perspective it’s not going to revolutionize your wins and losses.
