Parity is the theme of the 2026 MLB season. The dog days of summer lie on the horizon, and virtually every team still has a path to the playoff race. With the All-Star break just a few weeks away, we expect a few teams to start their ascent before it gets too late.
The schedule only intensifies from here, with teams fighting for playoff positioning until the end of the campaign. We’re breaking down Tuesday’s MLB action with our daily betting guide and best bets for June 30, 2026!
Detroit Tigers vs New York Yankees
Spread: DET -1.5 (-170) | NYY +1.5 (-215)
Moneyline: DET +100 | NYY -120
Total: 7.5 Over (+110) | Under (-130)
It’s been a forgettable stretch of baseball for the New York Yankees. The former division leaders and now second-place squad have dropped five in a row and eight of their last 10, falling 1.5 games back of the division leading Rays. Needing to get to Tarik Skubal on Tuesday night, we don’t like their chances of putting up a crooked number.
Skubal remains one of the most dominant pitchers in the American League. He’s toting a 3.32 ERA and 0.99 WHIP into tonight’s inter-divisional battle, striking out 21 over his last 16.1 innings pitched. With the Yankees owning the second-worst OPS over the past week, they should struggle to create offense against the Tigers.
At the same time, Cam Schlittler has been one of the premier pitchers in the MLB this season. The Yankees’ phenom has vaulted to the top of the Cy Young futures board, on the strength of a 1.62 ERA and 0.92 WHIP. As such, the Tigers face a stiff challenge in breaking out of their season-long slump.
The total in this game doesn’t reflect both pitchers’ dominant nature. Naturally, that points us toward the under at Yankee Stadium.
Picks: Under 7.5 -140
New York Mets vs Toronto Blue Jays
Spread: NYM -1.5 (+170) | TOR +1.5 (-215)
Moneyline: NYM +105 | TOR -125
Total: 7.5 Over (-125) | Under (+105)
The Toronto Blue Jays got off the schneid in Monday’s series opener versus the New York Mets. Despite the win, the Jays’ offense remained tepid. We’re betting on another low-scoring affair on Tuesday night.
Toronto’s offense has been one of the worst in recent weeks. Over their last 13 games, the defending AL Champs rank 23rd in the MLB in OPS, generating 4.0 runs per game off a .233 batting average. Facing Nolan McLean should perpetuate those lackluster results.
McLean continues to do Cy Young-worthy things every time he toes the rubber. He ranks in the upper echelon of pitchers in opponent expected batting average, average exit velocity, and strikeout percentage. With his expected ERA of 3.43 sitting below his actual mark of 4.03, he should bounce back quickly after last week’s dismal performance.
Kevin Gausman has struggled to command his fastball of late, giving up eight homers over his last 26.0 innings pitched. But like McLean, Gausman is operating above his expected ERA, implying that we should see immediate correction in the short-term.
Like his teammates yesterday, we’re predicting a bounce-back effort from Gausman against the Mets, leading to another AL East game that stays below the total.
Picks: Under 7.5 +106
Los Angeles Angels vs Seattle Mariners
Spread: LAA +1.5 (-150) | SEQ -1.5 (+125)
Moneyline: LAA +155 | SEA -185
Total: 7.5 Over (+115) | Under (-135)
BetMGM continues to attract some large money wagers on the Seattle Mariners; however, the M’s continue to disappoint. They conceded the AL West lead and have been struggling to stay above .500. They are favored over the Los Angeles Angels in tonight’s intra-divisional showdown, but our analysis supports the edge lies in backing the visitors.
June has been unkind to Bryan Woo. The Mariners’ probable starter has been knocked around for 17 runs across 22.1 innings pitched this month. Moreover, he’s given up five or more earned runs in three of his four starts. Reconciling that with the dramatic increase in his WHIP and the Angels’ positively-trending offense, we’re betting Woo’s struggles continue.
The Halos aren’t an imposing offensive threat. Still, their recent efforts have been more promising. Over the past month, LA is slugging .427, a moderate jump relative to their season-long rate of .398. More importantly, that’s translated to tangible results on the scoreboard. Across the more recent stretch, the Angels are averaging 5.1 runs per game, a respectable jump relative to their season-long standing of 4.5.
Woo’s 45.2% hard-hit rate sits in the 11th percentile. No one has had a hard time figuring him out recently, and the Angels should follow suit. This is an ideal spot to back the Halos at a discounted rate.
Picks: Angels +155
