Casinos employ various types of casino offers to get players to come back. While core offers tend to happen on a set schedule, some casinos employ bounceback offers to get players to return back soon.
The offers tend to be similar in nature to other casino offers, offering some form of value such as free play to get players back. How they differ from other offers is that they tend to be more responsive to recent play. Hitting certain thresholds of play will trigger a bounceback offer to get you to come back and play more.
Before their acquisition by MGM, the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas was a great example of a casino that employed a bounceback offer program. When you would play at the Cosmo, the next day an email would be sent offering free play if you came back to play. They knew most people visit Vegas for multiple days, and they wanted to convert that stop-in visit to something more meaningful.
We’ve also seen it deployed at times in competitive markets like Atlantic City. Unlike the Cosmopolitan offer, which tended to be designed to bring people back within a couple of days, the ones we saw would try to entice players back within two months, and would stack on top of the standard casino offers that would be available. These offers would aim to get another trip, vs. a return visit the same trip – same offer type, different goals.
Sometimes they can seem small – bounceback offers aren’t always designed to be the most generous part of an offers package. But as part of an overall part of your payback, timing your trips to take advantage of them, especially when they’re more reliably offered and it’s clear what you’re getting back, can be a smart way to get the most out of your casino trip.
