If you’re lucky enough to get a jackpot on a slot machine, you might not know exactly what to do about it. Here’s an example of a question we get on the topic:
When Brian does live streams and he wins a hand pay, he gets up and walks away. I’m sure he has people there to wait for the host to come to that machine. But for anyone else, if you win a handbag, should you sit and wait for the host to come or will they find you by your players card if you’re at a different machine?

We don’t recommend leaving the machine’s vicinity until the slot attendant arrives to begin the process. In Brian’s case, he’s either at casinos where he’s a known entity, or he’s on trips that have been carefully arranged in advance.
His ability to move during lives is often a combination of the staff on site, but also many casinos have attendants on standby during the lives to ensure a speedy process (presuming Fast Pay isn’t available, which can simplify things even further).
It usually doesn’t take long for an attendant to find you when the jackpot hits. Some players may move a machine over to play the machine next to it while they await the attendant. Once the attendant has collected your information, there’s less urgency to stay immediately by a machine, but it’s helpful to stay nearby so they can find you quickly with the money.
Many times attendants can’t pay out jackpots without a supervisor witnessing the payout, so when you factor in that two people are occupied to pay out the jackpot, it’s helpful to wait it out and ensure that everything goes smoothly.
But if you do plan on moving around, giving the attendant a heads up on where to find you will ensure they can find you, with your money, that much faster. They can also let you know if you’re nearing the edge of their zone, to ensure you’re not traveling outside where they’re assigned to work.
