When it comes to the casino, for many, gambling is a form of entertainment, no different than going out to dinner or seeing a movie (and at many casinos, you can often do all three).
For those who don’t find gambling fun, it can feel like a waste of money, but some will say the same about eating out vs. eating at home, for instance. Some people will watch sports in person, and others will make do with watching on TV. Some gamble, and some just live vicariously through Brian Christopher.
There’s a variety of entertainment activities at different budgets and everyone should be able to prioritize what they enjoy.
The key thing is to remind your daughter that most will have some sort of money they budget for entertainment. As long as people stick within their budget and aren’t spending money that is needed to pay the bills, that should be their choice.
In your case, having an activity you enjoy to get out and do is certainly healthy, as long as the above is kept in mind.
